When Burgundy's celebrated Drouhin family planted in the Dundee Hills in the late 1980s, they bet that Oregon could rival their homeland for pinot noir. Fourth-generation winemaker Veronique Boss-Drouhin has crafted the estate's pinot noir and chardonnay ever since, splitting her year between Oregon and Burgundy.
The four-level gravity-flow winery sits atop a 235-acre estate overlooking the Willamette Valley, with tastings indoors, on an expansive terrace, or in the quiet of the Secret Garden. On clear days the view stretches to Mount Hood.
Seated flights compare estate pinot noir and chardonnay from the Dundee Hills and Eola-Amity Hills, with a cross-continental Oregon-and-Burgundy option; reservations are recommended though walk-ins are welcomed as space allows.
