About The Eyrie Vineyards

Where Oregon Pinot Began

In 1965, against the advice of his professors, David Lett planted the first pinot noir in the Willamette Valley and the first pinot gris in the United States. His vines established the very tone of Oregon winegrowing, and today second-generation winemaker Jason Lett carries the work forward with wild-yeast fermentations and library releases drawn from those original vines.

The tasting room sits in downtown McMinnville rather than at a manicured estate, a fitting reflection of Eyrie's artisanal, understated character. Pours lean toward restraint, age-worthiness, and a deep sense of place.

What you'll taste

Tastings explore estate pinot noir, pinot gris, and other varieties, often including bottles from the historic Original Vines; reservations are recommended.

Worth knowing: Planted the Willamette Valley's first pinot noir and the first pinot gris in the United States.
