Eberle Winery was established in 1982 by Gary Eberle, a Paso Robles pioneer who helped shape the region's reputation for Cabernet Sauvignon. The boar on the label nods to the German meaning of the family name, 'small boar.'
In 1991 the winery expanded underground, and today some 16,000 square feet of caves run below the property. Tastings come with a cave tour and broad views across the estate vineyard along Highway 46 East.
Tastings span estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Zinfandel, and every visit includes a guided tour of the underground caves. Walk-ins are welcome, with reservations available for larger groups.
Worth knowing: Founder Gary Eberle is widely regarded as a founding father of the Paso Robles wine industry, having helped establish the region's first AVA.
