A family-run hilltop estate on Greenville Road built around small-lot Cabernet.
Jim and Ginger McGrail planted their Cabernet vineyard in 1999 and opened the winery to the public in 2008. The boutique, family-run operation has built its reputation on small-production estate Cabernet Sauvignon.
The tasting room sits on a rise on Greenville Road with wide views across the eastern valley. Lawns, a patio, and a relaxed pace make it a popular stop for groups settling in for an afternoon.
Flights feature the estate and reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, offered as seated tastings on the patio and lawn; reservations are recommended.
Worth knowing: Its Cabernet has earned Double Gold and Best of Class honors at major California competitions.
