Pedernales Cellars was founded in 2006 by the Kuhlken and Osterberg families, building on an estate vineyard first planted in 1995 in the Bell Mountain area. The sixth-generation Texas family is best known for its Texas Tempranillo and Viognier, both considered benchmarks for those varietals in the state.
The estate tasting room sits high above the Pedernales river valley, with sweeping Hill Country views from its terrace and an underground barrel cellar below. Set off Upper Albert Road near Stonewall, it is a quieter, view-driven stop away from the main highway.
