William Chris Vineyards was founded in 2008 by William 'Bill' Blackmon and Chris Brundrett as a collaboration built on Old-World technique and Texas-grown fruit. Their 'grown, not made' philosophy has helped put Texas wine on the national map, and in 2025 the winery became the first Texas producer ever named to the World's 50 Best Vineyards list.
The estate sits along Highway 290 in the tiny hamlet of Hye, where seated tastings, the Oak Room, and a Chef's Table pairing draw on warm Hill Country hospitality. The grounds host live music and events through the year, with shaded tables and open lawns built for slowing down.
